Playing: You receive 100 Game Bucks each week. You can also earn Game Bucks for a number of social activities as well as picking the horses in the featured races.
Social Activities: For social activities, you earn Game Bucks each week from the time the Race Card closes the prior week until the race cards close for week of play. Social activities include creating a league, joining a league, and inviting friends to participate in MLHR as well as engaging in other activities found under “Earn Game Bucks” on the Home page.
Picking the winners: The number of Game Bucks wagered is equal to the number of Game Bucks earned that week. You can allocate the amount wagered among the four horses in your starter stable. If you pick a horse that finishes first, second or third in a featured race you will receive the Game Bucks equal to the number of Game Bucks wagered times the real-world payout amount for that horse. Note: As a result, it is possible for a horse to finish third and not earn a payout if track minimums of participating horses have not been met.
You will be able to select horses in the featured races for the weekend. Typically there are two to four races, and you can select horses from more than one race.
Race Cards: Every week, you will receive a Race Card. The Race Card will include your stable of four starter horses and four bench horses in case one or more of the starter horses is scratched. The horses are chosen for you from the week's featured races and will include a mix of favorites and long shots and may include horses from more than one race.
Race Cards will become available as soon as all of the entries for the featured races of the week are drawn, which generally is 2-3 days before the final scheduled race. You will receive a notification once your Race Card is available.
Players will select their horses by name. Coupled entries will be ignored for scoring purposes.
Scratches: If a horse in your starter stable is scratched, the horses in your starter stable ranked after that horse will move up and the next available horse in your bench stable will move to the last position in your starter stable. You will receive a notification in the event one of the horses in your starter stable scratches.
Wagering: Until the Race Card is locked, you can allocate the amount of Game Bucks earned among your four starter horses. If you do not change the amount wagered, the Game Bucks that you earn will be equally distributed among your starter horses.
Swapping Horses: Your Race Card will be automatically set approximately two hours before the start of the first featured race of the weekend. If your horse finishes first, second or third you win!
Setting the Race Card: Your Race Card will be automatically set on Saturday two hours before the start of the first featured race of the weekend, and the Game Bucks that you earn will be equally distributed among your starter horses. If your horse finishes first second or third you win!
Updating Your Status: The action for the weekend is tallied Sunday night and a new leaderboard is generated. You will receive a notification as to how well you are doing.
Leagues allow you to play with your friends in a closed environment. You can have a private league that is by invitation only or a public league that anyone can join. Each league has its own leaderboard and comments section so you can easily follow the action within your league.
